TRADITIONS IN THE FIELD

In 2014, 3 months before we got married, my then-fiance and I purchased a brown, wriggly mutt: A Weimaraner-Labrador mix that we named Lucy. And so began our adventure with dog training and upland bird hunting! 14 years (and two additional dogs later), we've since spent many fall & winter evenings at the gamelands: My husband with his shotgun, and me with my camera!

Growing up in a family of hunters, I've come to appreciate that hunting, no matter the type, is an experience deeply rooted in tradition, shaped by generations of memories and stories, and marked by moments eagerly anticipated year after year. If you're an upland hunter in western PA and you're interested in capturing some of that in a documentary-esque format, I'd love to join along with your hunting party and photograph for you.
